1. Not a professional security service

NestCalc.ai LLC (operating CorvoCam) is NOT a security company, alarm company, or professional monitoring service. CorvoCam is NOT a certified security, alarm, or life-safety system. Nobody watches your cameras but you. There is no monitoring center and no emergency dispatch.

Do not rely on CorvoCam as your sole or primary protection for life, health, or property. If you need certified security or life-safety monitoring, use a certified system.

CorvoCam also does not provide legal advice. Recording laws — especially for audio — vary widely by country, state and situation, and nothing in the app or on this site is advice about what you may lawfully record.

2. Unattended capture has real limits

CorvoCam runs on consumer phone hardware. Capture depends on that phone’s power, storage, temperature, camera hardware and operating system — all outside our control. Manufacturers ship different camera firmware and different battery-management behavior; a configuration that runs for weeks on one phone may behave differently on another.

Continuous or uninterrupted capture is not guaranteed. Frames can be missed, jobs can stop, and motion detection can miss events or trigger falsely. The reliability layer — foreground capture, crash recovery, boot restart, storage management — reduces these risks; it cannot eliminate them.

3. Deployment risks

Leaving a camera phone unattended involves practical risks, including:

• Power loss or charger failure ending capture

• Network outages cutting off remote view and alerts (local capture continues)

• Device theft, vandalism, weather or water damage

• Operating-system updates or manufacturer power management interrupting capture

• Storage exhaustion (configure rotation or stop behavior deliberately)

• Battery degradation and heat, especially in direct sun or enclosed mounts

• Motion detection missing events or firing on irrelevant changes

• Cloud or relay dependency for remote viewing when a direct connection is impossible

Plan deployments accordingly: secure and weather-protect the device, use quality power, and test before you rely on it.

4. Third-party services and their limits

CorvoCam relies on third-party services: Supabase (authentication, database, storage, realtime), Expo and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notification delivery), metered.ca (encrypted live-stream relay), and the app stores. Each can experience outages or delays we do not control.

Push alerts (low battery, low storage, motion, stops) are delivered best-effort through these services. They are a convenience, not a monitored alarm channel — delivery is not guaranteed, and delays happen.

5. Your responsibilities

Before and while deploying a CorvoCam camera, you MUST:

• Comply with all recording, surveillance, consent, privacy and data-protection laws where the camera is deployed — audio recording in particular is illegal without consent in many places

• Obtain permission before recording on property you do not control, and post signage where the law requires it

• Respect the privacy of neighbors, workers and passers-by when aiming the camera

• Test the full pipeline — capture, alerts, remote view — before relying on it for anything that matters

• Keep the device powered, secured and physically protected

• Treat alerts as best-effort signals and verify independently when it matters

CorvoCam provides the tools — you decide where and how to record, and you are responsible for those decisions.

6. No warranty

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. We make reasonable efforts to keep capture dependable and data current, but do not warrant that the Service is error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular deployment. App updates may change behavior at any time.

7. Limitation of liability and indemnification

To the maximum extent permitted by law, NestCalc.ai LLC, its members, employees, contractors and affiliates assume no liability for missed captures, lost footage, missed alerts, or any loss arising from reliance on the Service, and you agree to defend, indemnify and hold NestCalc.ai LLC harmless from claims arising from your deployments and recordings.
